Christian Counseling Symposium

Picture
Dr. Dave Wenzel and I were privileged to host Western Seminary's Christian Counseling Symposium this last Fall. We had the distinct honor of interacting with three noted experts in the field of faith and counseling. Each presenter represented distinct perspectives on the topic. This is a free resource to the public.

New Book on Self Compassion: An Interview with Kim Fredrickson

I was privileged with the opportunity to interview Kim Fredrickson, MFT about her new book on Self-Compassion. Many people are used to showing compassion to others. What many of us have trouble with is showing that same compassion to ourselves. Too often we say things to ourselves that we would never say to a friend. All this negative self-talk can have a devastating effect on our lives. Listen in to Kim's unique take on the topic.

Relationships, Spiritual Growth, & Brain Development

FOTS
This is a talk I recently did synthesizing some of the latest research on relationships, spiritual transformation, and brain development. I attempted to demonstrate meaning and purpose in our relationship conflicts through seeing conflict struggles as personal growth opportunities to develop personal emotional regulation skills, or what scripture calls the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). This was recorded at Bayside Church in Granite Bay, CA.
